Are you having fun yet??

So, I have a question for you, “Are you having FUN yet?”
I read a great quote the other day from Loretta Laroche, “Life is not a stress-rehearsal!” Yes, we should remember that. As we all know 2011 started with many challenges for lots of people both in personal lives and in business and we are 6 months on and at the beginning of a new financial year. Perhaps it is now that we should remember to take the time to have some fun, laugh out loud and enjoy our moments! Fun is most definitely a necessary ingredient for not only a healthy body but a healthy and productive life and work environment. We all know that laughter releases endorphins into your body which assists your immune system to work at optimum level. Laughter creates energy not only personally but within a team environment and it also sparks creativity! I am sure you have heard me tell the story about how when we are tired we have all laughed hysterically at something that we know is not really funny and if we were to tell somebody what we were laughing at, they would probably not find it funny, and yet we can’t stop laughing at it! I believe that this is your body simply saying that I am tired, I need a little something here to lift my energy and my mood so you find something to laugh at, release some endorphins and then suddenly you notice that you are re-energised and feeling good! Aren’t our bodies clever! It does appear that the real, authentic, mouth open, head back, laugh out loud style of laugh has become a rarity. I have noticed that when I laugh out loud people stop and stare. On planes they even stand up to see who the person is that is being so brave as to laugh so hard, loud and long!! What is going on?? When did laughter and fun become uncommon? Perhaps, if we allowed ourselves to make more fun, laughter and joy we would be healthier, happier, more productive, have better relationships and we would certainly be less stressed! Whatever challenges you are facing right now please know that.. “This too shall pass!” and that you are allowed to have a little fun along the way! Make FUN a priority in the second half of 2011!
